A seamstress. A naval officer. An impossible decision.

Harley Smith has always been unlucky in love, and this year is no different. Even if she can't get her best friend's brother out of her head. It's been almost a year, and with Valentine's Day approaching and no date in sight, perhaps it's time to stop holding out hope on her dreams. Maybe she should make her own happily ever after...

Joey Gray is a sailor through and through. He's been hurt before, and his job has become the only thing he can truly count on. But then he met his sister's best friend - the woman who has filled his dreams for months on end, regardless of how much he has tried to forget her. Now his career isn't as fulfilling as it once was, and he knows who's responsible. He needs to see her again. And what better day to tell her how he feels than on her birthday-Valentine's Day?

But is one week enough time to figure out what they have?

How gorgeous is this cover? I think the creative team at Escape Publishing have done an amazing job with this cover. I couldn't imagine another cover that would suit Andie and Tay's story any better.

Save the Date is currently available for preorder at your preferred retailer for a 20th October 2020 release!

Read the blurb below...

One dressmaker. One billionaire. Two broken hearts. How long could it last?

Darlington Vineyard is the perfect wedding venue, and Andie Gray has always made sure she had a date booked, with or without a fiance. Her dreams come true when she lands the perfect man to go with the perfect venue, but then she discovers he's not who she thought he was. All of a sudden love and fairy tales no longer make sense, leaving her questioning everything about her life...

Taylor Ballin knows what he wants, and love isn't it. He's been burned before, and it won't happen again. How was he to know that offering to pay for his sister's wedding would bring bridal seamstress Andie Gray, with her maddening allure, into his world and tear down the walls he'd built around his heart?

She's the kind of woman he's spent ten years avoiding, and he's everything her ex is. But the pull between them is unavoidable and neither of them can fight it. Perhaps a no-strings-attached kind of deal is exactly what they both need.

Or is it the one thing they should avoid?

After sitting on it for a little while, I am finally able to announce that Escape Publishing has taken on my next contemporary romance novel that's set in Perth!

This is an exciting new step in my writing career and I'm so excited to be able to share my publishing journey with all of you.

I've also recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by the lovely Dana Arpquest. You can read the Q&A here.

Keep watching this space!

What's new?

Well, this website is, for starters!

As you have most likely heard, a lot of the world is currently in isolation/lockdown. And while we're all engulfed in school from home, work from home, excessive baking, putting dents in our TBR piles, PJ days, and turning to our board games and puzzles, the world continues to turn.

I am loving spending more time with my family, cherishing those precious moments, and getting involved with the school work. It's as though my life got busier by staying home, but busy is good. Busy helps the time fly and gets things done.

So many things have been happening on the writing front, some of which I will share when the time is right. In the meantime, I've just started writing the second book in a new series while working through the edits of the first book and the words are FLOWING. The series is hot, sweet, and exciting. Think sexy heroes with hearts of gold and sassy heroines (firefighters anyone?). And did I mention a dog?

So while we're wading through this global pandemic, remember we're all in this together, and if you're looking for something to do, there's a whole world of books out there waiting to take you on adventures and help make your time at home a lot more comfortable.

If you've already taken a dive into your TBR piles, tell me what books you've been reading and what books you're looking forward to. I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time,
R.J.
